I had a great family session this morning. I photographed Marcia and Brad’s wedding several years ago. They brought Emerson four years ago to be photographed and now Talyn. I had so much fun with them this morning. I wanted to post a sneak preview and one of my favorite images.

Do you remember that snow we had before Christmas? I woke up and looked out our back yard and I saw this amazing scene. I waited for the sun to peak just right before I took the shot. This image brings me great peace.

I photographed Michael when he was a senior at MICDS. He was home this past holiday and his mom wanted a portrait in his uniform. He is attending the Naval Academy. I had so much fun with him. He is such a nice young man. We were done with the “formal” portraits and as he was leaving I saw this beautiful window light hitting him. I made him stop for more photos. These were my favorites from his session.

A few weeks ago, I had the most amazing woman come in for a portrait session. She was funny, honest and beautiful. At the end of the session she told me of her web site www.slacker-moms-r-us.com. It is a great site with wit, humor, and beautiful stories of moms raising children. Kristie is the main voice of the site. Her humor has made me laugh and some stories have made me cry. I photographed her family last Saturday at our annual Fall Foliage portraits at Blackburn Park. In tow came a handsome husband and 4 beautiful children. The youngest of the four is almost 2 years old with shocking red curly hair and a bit unruly. Oh and not to forget their puppy – also a bit unruly (but aren’t all puppies that way). Here are two favorites from the session.

Our youngest grandchild wasn’t quite ready
for this Halloween thing – maybe next year!

Finally – I’m free

However – our oldest grandchild was more
than ready and willing to share his candy
with his younger brother

Last weekend, my family and I went to celebrate my nephew’s wedding reception in Evanston, Illinois. They eloped in April in Las Vegas at the Elvis Chapel. The theme for the small yard reception was an Elvis 50’s theme. I loved the simplicity of this wedding event.
1. In the 50’s in Evanston there was a drug store diner that served skinny French fries, dollar hamburgers, hot dogs, and small Cokes, and for dessert Root Beer Floats. We used to go there after school. Can you imagine having a full meal for $1? This theme was carried out in the food line.

2. Any one out there that remembers these types of diners? Great table decorations.

3. It was a 50’s theme. My brother in law David dressed for the affair.

4. Delicious individual pies to take home.

5. My sister and brothers.
6. Congratulations to Julie and Anthony! We love you!
