All of these were shot on my Yashica twin lens reflex film camera.

ESPN Magazine
March 8th, 2010I had the wonderful opportunity to assist the photographer Dan Winters a few weeks ago.
Dan was in town to photograph Albert Pujols for the cover of ESPN the magazine.
Not only did I get a chance to work with one of the best editorial photographers working today, I also got to be Albert’s stand in.
Here are some outtakes of me from the day and you can see the actual cover image HERE.

Gold’s Gym
September 11th, 2009John and I joined Gold’s Gym. This facility is amazing. It has a gazillion treadmills, elliptical machines, stair steppers, weight machines, spinning bikes, a basketball court, and a huge swimming pool. You can sign up for classes or work out by yourself. You can also hire a personal trainer. So John and I signed up for a year. Our first time there John worked out on a treadmill and I headed for the aquacize class. On my way to the pool I noticed a lot of very young woman (who were definitely in shape) heading for the spinning class and the aerobic weight lifting class. There were several older women and much larger than the younger counter parts heading to the pool area. I was definitely thinking I made a mistake in class choices. Once everyone was in the pool, I noticed I was clearly the youngest aquacizer. Not the smallest but definitely the youngest. There was even a woman there that had to be over 80 and I thought wow I hope I am in a pool aquasizing at 80. There was even a very older gentleman aquasizing but I think he was there to pick up chicks. But then the instructor came in and got things going and I worked very hard for a full hour. It was a great workout and I totally loved it. I already have booked a date every Wednesday morning with Gold’s Gym aquacizing and me.
Fun in the garden
August 25th, 2009I had so much fun photographing little KJ. I have photographed him several times since he has been an infant. His latest shoot was in our studio garden. KJ is definitely all about personality.

The Newest Nordmann Taking Over
February 11th, 2009Our newest granddaughter, Hadley, comes to our studio almost every day for a visit. Her daddy, Kevin, usually will plop her on his desk. She sits very quietly, cooing and smiling. The other day he decided to put her to work and earn her keep on his desk. I think she did a great job on editing Kevin’s sports photos. This photo credit goes to Kevin Nordmann.

Winter Doldrums
February 4th, 2009I am usually not the winter depression, gray skies, I want to go to bed and stay there type person. But this cold weather is really getting to me. I am longing for Spring which brings so much more vitality to my life. I absolutely love summer. I love the hot, long days. I also love fall with the beautiful colors and warm days. I photographed the Hardemanns last fall and just love their images. I loved their storyboards and had to share them with you. The boys had such great little personalities. The images brought me joy with the flowers and a longing for the warm, sunny, weather to arrive.
