We have finally made the move from Big Bend to Litzsinger. We are so excited to be in our new studio.
It has been a long venture but we are moved in and settling in very nicely. Our new address is 9420 Litzsinger.
We are right on the corner of Litzsinger and McKnight. We are kiddy corner from Tillis Park and right across
the street from the St. Louis Children’s Home. Our new phone number is (314) 962-5900. I know you will enjoy this
place as much as we do. Our studio outdoor garden and outdoor sets are going in this week.
We have 2 great studio rooms to photograph in and an attic to die for. Our new place has 4,000 square feet
and we are on an acre of land. I can’t tell you how excited I am about our new studio. But I have already said that.
I truly am very excited!!!!
And this is our new sign. Isn’t it adorable?
Congratulations to Devan Sanders from John Burroughs for being voted the Class of 2012 spokesMODEL People’s Choice.
We had well over 1,000 votes. Thank you for all that took the time to vote. I know it was a hard choice for many of you because
I must say that I have the best group of spokesMODELS. Devan has garnered a special place in our studio and will have a full
page dedicated to her in our upcoming magazine due out in mid May. Again, congratulations Devan Sanders!

fun photographing each of these spokesMODELS. We have used new lighting, new locations, and
different backgrounds. I have been able to be creative and try something new with each spokesMODEL.
But now I need your help. We are looking for a very special person to be our People’s Choice for our

Here is a tried and true testimonial from one of our
Class of 2012 spokesMODELS. Alyssa Wood from
O’Fallon Township was the first Class of 2012 spokesMODEL.
I have several tasks for the spokesMODELS to complete for
discounts on their senior photos and cash rewards. Alyssa has
participated in everything we have to offer and so far has earned
well over $100 in cash rewards. Alyssa created this little 1 minute
informercial. And I totally love it.
One of my favorite senior sessions for our senior photos is our Bluffs Session. It is at our home in Fenton. On these dreary March days I love looking at these beautiful summer senior pic images. We photograph on Wednesdays at the Bluffs, June through August. There are so many places to photograph at the Bluffs for senior photographs. We have the lake, the dock, the pool, the garden, the hot tub, the garage and indoors we have beautiful window light. I will admit my favorite place to photograph is around the pool. On those hot summer days it is so refreshing to jump in the pool for a wet look for a great senior session. CLICK ON THE PHOTO BELOW TO VIEW THE SLIDESHOW!
I have many friends in the photography circle. One of my favorite friends is Scott Crosby from Avon, Indiana. Avon Picture This. He is a mover and a shaker. Back in November he launched a new group called UPPPA which is an acronym for United Professional Portrait Photographers Association. This group is made up of hundreds of professional photographers throughout the United States. In order to belong to the group, I needed to submit several images for a judges panel. I was thrilled when I was accepted. The forum is one of the most active forums I have ever been part of. I have learned and shared a tremendous amount. If you are a professional photographer, I suggest for you to join this amazing group.
I have photographed hundreds of seniors and generally love every outfit that is brought. However, photographically, some outfits photograph better than others. Here is a good general rule and great tips from my friend and terrific photographer, Kim Jew to make sure your senior portraits are the best ever.
A. Busy prints can take away from the most important part of your photo—you. Avoid wearing clothing with loud or busy prints that could take the focus off you.
B. Colors that are too similar to your skin tone can end up making you look washed out in your photo.
C. Textures are great! They can add visual interest to your picture without taking away from you.
D. Wear accessories that complement your clothing and enhance your unique style.
E. In general, solid colors photograph better than printed material. If you want to incorporate a print, go for vertical lines—they tend to be slimming and photograph well.
F. Sleeveless tops can make your arms look heavier and bigger than they are. Some people can get away with the look on film, but others can’t. Make sure you’re comfortable with how you will look in your photos.
Your senior photo session should be fun. So be sure to keep these tips in mind and bring lots of outfits as you prepare for your senior photo session.
I was thinking about if I was a senior looking for a senior pic photographer what would I look for? If you google senior pics, high school senior pictures or St. Louis senior photographers, google comes up with pages of photographers. How do you choose. So I thought I would give you a few reasons why to come to Nordmann Photography.
#1 Lighting We know lighting and will flatter your face and body with it. To create moods and different looks, we use a wide variety of lighting types during your photo shoot to make your images look pleasing, unique and different. Sessions can be photographed indoors, outside, window light, and off camera flash to give you the best look.
#2. Posing There are ways that we will direct you to turn your body, place your arms, and legs. All of our light posing will accentuate your body for a sliming effect. It is so simple with a few twists and turns of the body. We will give you simple directions and then let your individuality show.
#3. Having Fun. It is very important to us that you are having a great time while being photographed. I can’t tell you how much fun I have photographing every senior. If you are having fun, we will definitely capture genuine smiles.
#4 Unique Sets and Locations. We take great efforts for our senior photography not to all look the same. We change up our backdrops, sets, and garden plantings. But we will always have some favorites that include the hammock and waterfall. We have our favorite locations in the city of St. Louis. When you look at our senior pics you will see that our sets and locations are unique.
It is our mission at Nordmann Photography for every senior to have a unique senior photo session. We will create an experience you will remember for a lifetime with your senior pics.
Check out this amazing photo taken by Kurtis Hall (our main man). This image proves why you should pick Nordmann Photography for your senior photos.
