We will be featuring our Entrepreneur of the Week as a new part of our blog. Most of the entrepreneurs we will be featuring are small business owners, artists and writers. According to the Princeton Review… “The small business owner is the backbone of the American economy. Ninety-nine percent of all employers are small business owners. They provide 75% of the new jobs created every year, and they are responsible for 96% of all exported goods. Small business owners work out of garages, small stores on Main Streets, and huge corporate campuses.”
A small plug for us. We have photographed all of these entrepreneurs.
So today I am going to start with a writer, Julie Lessman. Julie is a writer of Christian Romance Novels. Check her web site out at www.julielessman.com.
So meet Julie Lessman and visit her web site and enjoy reading her books.
Hello … I’m Julie Lessman, an Inspirational Romance author with a passion for God and a passion for romance. Since the age of twelve, I’ve been in love with the idea of being “in love.” It happened the moment Scarlett seared Rhett with a look on the winding staircase of Twelve Oaks. Suddenly I was a goner, spellbound by the emotional ebb and flow of romantic relationships.
As an adult, I quickly learned that true romance is spiritual as well as physical and emotional. And one pass through the “Song of Solomon” in the Bible told me that God was the biggest romantic of them all, deeply passionate in His love for each of us. Through my love affair with Him, I have discovered that romance can transcend to another dimension where romantic passion and spiritual passion merge, creating a 3-D love story: the hero, the heroine, and the God that brings them together. I hope you enjoy my stories … and may they bring you closer to the Father’s heart.

So the latest rage in Social Media is Pinterest. To bottom line it Pinterest is a site that you can have pin boards of all of your favorite things. On mine I have several boards. I have Books I love, Senior Looks, Great Shoes, Places I would like to go, Accessories and more. Not that I ever would purchase any of the items pinned or go to any of my favorite places. My boards are my dream arenas. And I can share my interests with all of my Pinterest friends. So if you are so inclined you can follow me on Pinterest. And then I can follow you on Pinterest. I can pin something you like and you can pin something I like. It is like being friends but not really.
I am so overwhelmed with social media. It has taken over my life. Facebook is all consuming but I love to keep up with my friends, family and customers to see what they are up to. I don’t post much on my personal Facebook page – just when inspired to do so – but will comment or “like” other friends comments. But our business pages – now that is another story. We have our business page Nordmann Photography that has to be attended to daily for our high school senior photography. We have another Facebook page Nordmann Portraits reserved mainly for children’s photography and family portraiture. Then we have Nordmann Weddings dedicated to all of our future and past brides. For the people wanting video we have Nordmann Video. Ok and I know this is getting ridiculous but how can we forget about our Sports Photography – Nordmann Sports. Oh and we can’t forget our latest endeavor and recent facebook site for the women who want to bring the sexy back into their lives Boudoir Black Diamond.
So I think I created a monster with all of these different pages but my justification is that we do have different audiences. I never want to bore people with Boudoir Photography if they were just interested in High School Senior Photography. Would a bride be interested in sports photography over wedding photography? So not only am I a photographer but also a social media designer and writer. Wait – I never signed up for this job as a social media guru. All I ever wanted to be was a photographer.
Stay tuned for tomorrows blog. I will be talking more about social media and time wasters such as Twitter, Instagram and now Pinterest. And guess who is wasting her time with all the above?Read More »
